Costa Rica

As I have previously mentioned, this summer the Stockton Women’s Soccer team will be traveling to Costa Rica, South America. The team takes an international trip every 4 years and 2010 happens to be a year to travel. Just about all of the members of our team will be taking the trip although there are some girls who for various reasons will not be coming along. Before leaving for Costa Rica there are obviously many expenses that we must find money to pay for. All year we have been doing various fundraisers to put towards the trip. So far we held a beach soccer tournament, sold ads in our handbook, and sold apparel. In the next few months before our trip we will be doing a few coin drops, a business letter and looking for a few other ways to cover all of our expenses that include airfare, hotel costs, and food costs. The week Prior to leaving for the trip, the team will have a week of training here at school. In order to help us get back into playing shape this week will be essential. We then depart for Costa Rica on June 26^th and will be staying within the country for 10 days. While we are there we will be training with our team and also the Philadelphia University Women’s team. We will have a few games vs. international teams. Aside from traveling the country and playing soccer, we will also be learning about the culture and giving our service to a local orphanage. The team is very excited for the trip and everything that it encompasses!
